Job summary

The Charter Hotel Seattle seeks an experienced Chief Engineer to lead the maintenance team, oversee engineering operations, and support capital projects across the property.

This role requires six years in facilities maintenance with five years supervisory experience, a technical certification, and relevant licenses (CPO, CPR/AED, EPA, First Aid). The incumbent will manage safety, vendor relations, and preventive maintenance while ensuring a safe, well-maintained guest environment.

Qualifications

• Six years in facilities maintenance or hotel engineering.
• At least five years of supervisory experience.
• Technical/trade school certification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate maintenance staff across designated hotels.
• Ensure safety, fire and safety inspections and corrective actions.
• Administer preventative maintenance program and complete work orders on time.
• Hire, train, and evaluate maintenance team; manage performance.
• Coordinate with vendors on scope, bids, and cost estimates.
• Monitor and maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other systems.
