Job summary

Ascent Hospitality’s Huntsville property is seeking a Hotel Maintenance Supervisor to lead the Engineering team and oversee daily maintenance operations at a premier full-service Marriott hotel near the U.S. Space & Rocket Center.

The role requires strong leadership, troubleshooting skills, and knowledge of building systems. You will coordinate preventive maintenance, mentor staff, and ensure guest areas meet safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Previous hotel or commercial maintenance/engineering experience preferred.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and general building maintenance.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance requests in a fast-paced hotel environment.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently while effectively leading and supporting a team.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and respond to emergencies when needed.
• Marriott or full-service hotel experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, lead, and support the daily activities of the Engineering and Maintenance team.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules and ensure timely completion of repairs throughout the hotel.
• Troubleshoot and assist with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and other building systems.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests, guest concerns, and operational needs.
• Inspect guest rooms, public areas, equipment, and building systems to identify maintenance needs and ensure quality standards are met.
• Assist the Chief Engineer with managing work orders, preventive maintenance programs, and daily departmental priorities.
• Train, coach, and mentor Engineering team members on proper maintenance procedures, safety practices, and hotel standards.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and equipment performance.
• Ensure compliance with hotel safety standards, OSHA guidelines, and applicable local regulations.
• Assist with vendor coordination, contractor access, and maintenance projects as needed.
• Support emergency response procedures and ensure the property remains safe and operational at all times.
• Promote a positive team environment while providing exceptional service to guests and hotel departments.
