Job summary

Homewood Suites by Hilton San Diego Mission Valley/Zoo is seeking an Engineering Manager to oversee daily maintenance operations, ensure safety and brand standards, and lead a team of Engineering Curators. The role partners with departments to prioritize needs and improve guest experiences.

Responsibilities include managing work orders, preventive maintenance, vendor coordination, and project support, with a focus on timely, compliant, and efficient facility operations at the hotel in Mission

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior hotel maintenance or commercial building maintenance experience.
• Experience in leadership roles or supervision.
• Certified Pool Operator certification preferred, or ability to obtain.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily maintenance activities across rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
• Assign preventive maintenance tasks for systems and equipment.
• Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with standards.
• Supervise and mentor Engineering Curators for performance and development.
• Coordinate vendor relationships for repairs, inspections, and projects.
• Maintain records of repairs, inspections, and work orders.
• Assist with schedule creation, payroll review, and inventory as needed.
