Job summary

Hyatt Regency Morristown is seeking a Director of Engineering to oversee the maintenance department and keep the hotel in top operating condition. The role reports to the General Manager and requires strong leadership in a fast-paced hospitality setting.

The ideal candidate has extensive hotel or building management experience, a preference for an Engineering/Facility Management degree, and excellent English communication skills.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in progressive hotel or building management, typically with Hyatt.
• Senior facility management experience in hospitality.
• Pre-opening hotel experience preferred.
• Strong leadership and customer service focus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Review contracts and negotiate revisions with vendors.
• Requisition supplies for construction projects.
• Coordinate with owners, contractors, and design professionals.
• Explain plans and contract terms to staff and clients.
• Plan, organize and direct maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems.
• Prepare budget estimates and cost tracking reports.
• Develop and implement quality control programs.
• Inspect projects for compliance with codes and regulations.
• Coordinate with building code officials when required.
• Maintain communications with Corporate Staff.
• Coach employees to Hyatt service standards.
