Highgate Hotels in Dallas, TX is seeking an Engineer to ensure the property is maintained at peak condition with minimal guest disruption. Training is available for candidates with hospitality spirit and a commitment to career growth.

The role involves performing inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general facilities tasks to support a premier hotel experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field required.
• At least one year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
• Heavy work - can require lifting and manual handling; must communicate clearly with staff and guests.
• Must be able to listen, understand, and clarify concerns from employees and guests.
• Must multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct room inspections and identify repair needs.
• Install or repair sheet rock and other wall coverings.
• Paint designated areas and items.
• Install and replace basic electrical fixtures, switches, receptacles, and bulbs.
• Repair furniture.
• Install and program televisions.
• Perform minor plumbing functions.
• Replace and repair heating and cooling pumps and perform preventive maintenance.
• Trace and repair water lines.
• Troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment.
• Maintain maintenance records.
• Work to local, state and Federal codes.
• Be aware of guest satisfaction scores and work toward increasing satisfaction.
• Practice safe work habits and comply with MSDS/OSHA standards.
• Perform other duties as requested by supervisor
