Job summary

Millennium Durham, part of Millennium Hotels & Resorts, is seeking an Engineer to maintain guest rooms and public areas, ensuring safety and operational excellence.

You will perform routine maintenance on HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems, respond to service requests, and collaborate with team members to deliver an outstanding guest experience in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems
• Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems
• Complete preventive maintenance tasks according to schedules
• Respond promptly to guest room maintenance requests and service calls
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform corrective repairs
• Maintain hotel grounds, public areas, guest rooms, and back-of-house facilities
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and repair records
• Support energy conservation and sustainability initiatives

Technical / Role-Specific Requirements

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, kitchen, laundry, and mechanical equipment.
• Complete preventive maintenance tasks according to established schedules.
• Respond promptly to guest room maintenance requests and service calls.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform corrective repairs.
• Maintain hotel grounds, public areas, guest rooms, and back-of-house facilities.
• Perform painting, drywall, carpentry, and general maintenance tasks as needed.
• Conduct daily inspections of building systems and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, fire, health, and environmental regulations.
• Assist with emergency situations, including power outages, water leaks, and equipment failures.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and repair records.
• Support energy conservation and sustainability initiatives.
• Work collaboratively with all hotel departments to provide exceptional guest service.

Engineering:

• Technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or building systems
• Relevant certifications or licenses preferred

Education (Optional / Adjustable)

• High school diploma or equivalent required
