Job summary

The Hampton Inn West Des Moines/Lake Drive is actively seeking a full-time Chief Engineer to oversee maintenance technicians and ensure the hotel operates smoothly. You will respond to maintenance requests from guests and staff, plan preventive maintenance, and supervise the on-duty team to keep facilities in top condition.

Qualifications

• Hotel experience preferred
• 1+ years in hospitality maintenance
• Supervisory experience preferred
• Ability to work weekends and holidays
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent job-related experience
• Verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Maintain all electrical and mechanical equipment in heating, cooling, refrigeration, water-supply, and power systems.
• Comply with the preventative maintenance schedule and program.
• Supervise maintenance staff including staffing, training and performance management.
• Ensure all work meets customer satisfaction with quick, effective resolution of problems.
• Prepare and adhere to maintenance and equipment budgets.
• Secure and review bids from outside contractors.
