Job summary

Commonwealth Hotels seeks a Hotel Chief Engineer or Maintenance Manager for SpringHill Suites Cincinnati Midtown, a downtown-adjacent property prioritizing guest comfort and service. You will lead repairs, safety initiatives, budgeting, and cross-department collaboration to maintain peak operations.

Responsibilities include overseeing HVAC, electrical, plumbing, energy management, and vendor contracts while ensuring brand standards and guest satisfaction. Weekend/holiday flexibility is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in guest-focused hospitality environment
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repairs: oversee routine and emergency repairs for hotel equipment and systems
• Facility operations: ensure guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces are well maintained
• Safety and compliance: enforce health, safety, and environmental regulations and maintain inspections
• Budgeting and procurement: manage maintenance budget and negotiate with vendors
• Crisis management: respond to outages and breakdowns with contingency plans
• Collaboration with other departments: coordinate with housekeeping, front desk, and F&B teams
• Documentation and reporting: keep records and report to General Manager
