Job summary

Home2 Suites Chicago River North is seeking a Chief Engineer to oversee maintenance, ensure guest comfort, and uphold sustainability standards across the hotel.

You will lead a team, manage vendor contracts, and supervise small projects and PIPs while maintaining life-safety systems and building operations. HVAC certification is required, with additional local certifications possible.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or trade school training preferred.
• Previous supervisory engineer/maintenance experience required.
• HVAC certification is required.
• Other certifications may be required based on local needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach associates to meet brand standards and values.
• Manage bids, quotes, and contracts for third-party vendors.
• Oversee small projects and Property Improvement Plans (PIPs).
• Perform and supervise sheetrock repair, painting, furniture refinishing, and fixture replacements.
• Troubleshoot kitchen equipment and heating/cooling pumps; install/ program televisions.
• Maintain PM records and life safety system testing for 100% operation.
• Coordinate service contract compliance and ensure codes.
• Manage exterior/curb appeal following sustainability guidelines.
• Promote safe work practices to increase guest satisfaction.
