Job summary

First Hospitality is seeking a Chief Engineer in Madison to lead the hotel’s maintenance team and oversee the physical plant, systems, and guestrooms. You will proactively manage repairs and coordinate with departments to ensure timely responses while upholding safety and quality standards.

Ideal candidates have extensive maintenance or engineering experience in hospitality, with relevant certifications and a strong leadership mindset to drive the team forward and maintain exceptional guest

Qualifications

• 5+ years of maintenance or engineering experience, preferably in a hotel or similar facility.
• High School diploma or equivalency education certificate required.
• Electrical and/or plumbing certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Proactively maintain the building, systems, and equipment through preventive and routine maintenance.
• Ensure completion of grounds and custodial work as needed.
• Use tools and other power equipment, following safety guidelines to ensure safety of all.
• Complete repairs including plumbing, painting, carpentry, sheetrock, and electrical work to standard safety and quality.
• Prioritize repairs that impact guest experience.
• Communicate with hotel departments to ensure timely maintenance.
• In emergencies, inform and assist guests and operations.
