Job summary

Island Hospitality Management seeks a proactive Chief Engineer for our hotel who enjoys hands-on problem solving, maintenance planning, and leading a maintenance team. The role may require flexible scheduling to keep the property running smoothly and safely.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry issues, conducting preventative maintenance, managing work orders and budgets, and ensuring guest satisfaction and brand standards.

Qualifications

• Hotel maintenance experience preferred (4+ years)
• Ability to handle multiple maintenance tasks and prioritize work orders
• Strong problem-solving and time-management skills

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and hotel equipment
• Perform routine room preventative maintenance and safety checks
• Inspect property and coordinate with management on needs and budgets
• Supervise maintenance staff and schedule work assignments
• Coordinate with inspectors to ensure compliance with codes and regulations
