Job summary

Residence Inn Lake Norman in Huntersville, NC, is hiring a full-time Chief Engineer to manage facilities maintenance, grounds, vehicles, and engineering staff. The role requires flexibility for AM/PM shifts and weekday/weekend availability, with a salary range of $22.00–$24.00 hourly and benefits including daily pay.

You will supervise repairs, inspect systems, uphold safety standards, and oversee preventive maintenance and cost controls.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of engineering, building, property management or supervisory experience.
• Two years of HVAC systems experience preferred.
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, refrigeration, life safety systems, pools, and OSHA regulations.
• Certified Pool Operator (if applicable), CFC and HVAC license; further certifications preferred.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills with delegation and multitasking.
• Budgeting and cost-control experience required.
• Must identify and solve problems for hotel/guest needs.

Responsibilities

• Oversees grounds, engineering, and maintenance operations to meet company standards.
• Inspects facilities to ensure furniture, fixtures, and equipment are in good condition and stocked.
• Assigns and supervises repairs; completes work orders on time and within budget.
• Inspects facility physical condition to determine work type needed.
• Maintains a cost-effective preventive maintenance program.
• Maintains inspection, licenses, and contract files.
• Manages security procedures and key control.
• Supervises day-to-day operations of the Engineering department.
