Job summary

AC Hotel Dayton by Marriott in the Water Street District of Dayton, OH, seeks a hands-on Chief Maintenance Engineer to own hotel maintenance, repairs and building systems. Lead a small team, manage work orders, and ensure safety, compliance and guest comfort across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.

This role offers health insurance, a 401K, PTO, paid birthday, and an annual bonus plan, with weekend/evening flexibility as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hotel engineering/maintenance experience, preferably in a Chief Engineer or Supervisor role.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of building systems and maintenance.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and work alongside the maintenance team.
• Handle daily repairs, troubleshooting, and emergency maintenance.
• Oversee preventive maintenance for guest rooms and hotel facilities.
• Maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, mechanical, and building systems.
• Assign daily work, manage work orders, and inspect completed work.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, fire, health, safety, and building codes.
• Manage tools, equipment, supplies, and the Engineering budget.
• Train and support team members while maintaining hotel standards.
• Partner with other departments to ensure a safe and comfortable guest experience.

We’re seeking a hands-on Chief Maintenance Engineer to take ownership of the hotel’s maintenance, repairs, and building systems. This is a great opportunity for an experienced maintenance professional who enjoys being directly involved in the work and ensuring the hotel’s facilities operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and work alongside the maintenance team.
