Job summary

Coury Hospitality at Hotel Carmichael, Autograph Collection, Carmel, IN, seeks a Maintenance Worker to respond to service calls and perform basic repairs across guest rooms and public spaces. You will help with carpentry, plumbing, electrical tasks, and safety compliance while maintaining equipment and inventories.

Under the Director of Engineering, you will prioritize urgent requests, ensure timely completion, and uphold cleanliness and organization in work areas.

REPORTS TO: Director of Engineering

STATUS: Non-Exempt

Position Summary Under the direction of the Director of Engineering, the Maintenance Worker responds to all General Maintenance service calls. Responsible for performing necessarytasks and demonstrating knowledge relating to hotel or property maintenance.

Primary Job Duties

• Performs basic repair and maintenance of facilities, guest rooms and public spaces.
• Maintains building by performing basic repairs, carpentry, shoveling, clean-up work, snow and ice removal, plumbing, electrical wiring, painting and other related maintenance activities as needed.
• Prioritize work orders through urgent requests and established hotel-area down times to minimize inconveniencing guests.
• Inspects and maintains machinery and equipment for conformance with operations and safety standards.
• Move furniture, equipment, and guest luggage as required.
• Properly maintains inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies required for projects.
• Provides timely and professional manpower assistance and backup to the Hotel.
• Accountable for materials used and ordering of items needed for job. Drives to pick up necessary supplies and equipment, as needed. Completion of inventory replacement per established Company procedure.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of the work areas.
• Handleschemicals according to hotel/regulatory safety requirements.
• Ensuresecurity of any assigned keys.

Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned at the discretion of the manager. Furthermore, tasks and responsibilities may be added or revised based on the volume of business and the need for the work to be completed at the present time.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Operation/use of pick-up, snow blower, small power tools, shovels, rakes and other maintenance tools.
• Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates or permits.
• Able to comply with all current related safety and health requirements.
• Blueprint reading.
• Must possess physical stamina and condition to withstand heavy labor related work in an outside environment.
• Ability to work without supervision and maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.

Physical Demands

• Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The associate is occasionally required to sit and taste or smell.
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Requires repetitive motion and manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
• While performing the duties of this job, the associate is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• Must be able to climb as a part of this position.
