Job summary

Hampton Inn & Suites San Mateo is seeking a dedicated Breakfast Attendant to support daily breakfast service and guest-facing areas. You will assist with food orders, prepare and set up breakfast items, and maintain stock and cleanliness for the breakfast area.

You’ll also help with meeting room setups and ensure health and safety standards are upheld. Responsibilities include inventory, temperature recording, safety training, and timely maintenance requests, while delivering friendly guest

• Keep the breakfast area clean and sanitized during and after service
• Record food temperatures to health department standards
• Assist in setting up meeting rooms and banquets as needed
• Notify supervisor of equipment or cleaning issues
• Fill out maintenance work orders and deliver promptly
• Provide friendly, welcoming guest interactions and follow hotel emergency procedures
• Follow all hotel safety and QA standards and manage keys and lost and found items

SUMMARY:Responsible for the food preparation and set-up of the breakfast, cleanliness of thefood and beverage areas and assisting in the setting-up and cleaning for specialguest functions.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. Assist with and/or place the breakfast food order2. Turn in all delivery invoices to GM or check and audit all receivables againstdelivery slip.3. Prepare and set-up breakfast foods4. Conduct regular inventories of food and paper or hard goods used atbreakfast5. Maintain the stock of breakfast foods and supplies during breakfast service6. Maintain the cleanliness of the breakfast area, mop/sweep floors, wipe-downcounter tops and equipment etc. during and after breakfast hours7. Maintain company standards by recording food temperatures and followcodes set by the health department8. Complete food safety certification9. Assist in the setting up of meeting rooms and banquets as needed. Assist inmaintaining the cleanliness of the meeting room during and after the meeting10. Clean the public areas thoroughly each day, according to companystandards11. Clean breakfast area tables and chairs as required12. Notify the Supervisor, Operations Manager, AGM or General Manager ofany problems with cleaning or equipment13. Fill out maintenance work orders and deliver to supervisor/manager ordesignated area in a timely manner14. Use the L.E.A.R.N Model for all guest recovery incidents that occur (Listen,Empathize, Apologize, React, Notify)15. Always have a friendly and welcoming demeanor when interacting with ourguests16. Responsible for knowing all hotel emergency procedures17. Follow all hotel safety guidelines and requirements18. Responsible for following all hotel quality assurance standards fordepartment19. Responsible for the proper administration of key control for issued keys20. Responsible for the proper administration of keys left by guests21. Bring all lost and found items to the supervisor’s or manager’s office forlogging and storage22. Accommodate guest special requests courteously.23. Answer guest questions regarding hotel and local area facilities and services.24. Carry out any reasonable request by management that I am capable ofperforming.These duties may require you to frequently bend, lift, carry, twist, push, pull, reach,kneel, and may require prolonged periods of standing and/or walking. Must be ableto lift, push, and pull a minimum of 50 pounds. You will be trained to perform all ofthese functions within the required safety guidelines and expectations.
