Job summary

Commonwealth Lodging Management LLCMarriott Short Pump in Glen Allen, VA is seeking a guest-focused server/bar staff member. You will greet guests, take food and beverage orders, upsell, and maintain knowledge of menus and promotions.

You must be at least 21, have a high school diploma or GED, basic computer skills and prior cash handling experience; alcohol-awareness certification is a plus. Adherence to liquor laws and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or work equivalent.
• Alcohol awareness certification preferred.
• Computer skills; familiarity with Microsoft Office and POS systems.
• Good English communication, both written and verbal.
• 1–2 years in food & beverage preferred; cash handling experience.

Responsibilities

• Be in proper uniform with nametag and provide guest relations.
• Greet guests, take orders, upsell and maintain knowledge of menu items.
• Maintain knowledge of hours, services, promotions, and group activities.
• Prepare drink orders; assist barbacks and cocktail servers.
• Handle payments and maintain cash bank following SOPs.
• Adhere to liquor laws, safety, and cleanliness standards.
• Assist in inventory and daily opening/closing duties.
• Comply with all policies and brand standards.
