Job summary

Highgate Hotels L.P. is seeking an Assistant General Manager for Residence Inn Ontario, CA, to lead profitability through revenue generation, cost control, guest satisfaction and employee development.

The role requires 5–6 years of progressive hotel experience, a degree preferred, and the ability to work long hours while maintaining a warm, service-oriented approach with staff and guests.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel management and operations is required or preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with guests and associates.
• Ability to lead, coach and develop managers and staff to achieve hotel goals.
• Strong financial acumen and ability to monitor budgets and revenue generation.

Responsibilities

• Play a pivotal role in hotel sales efforts, including calling on top ten accounts, meeting clients, hosting luncheons and receptions, and meeting with on-site contacts on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
• Tour the operating departments daily, making adjustments as needed via department heads.
• Conduct weekly staff meetings and trainings per Highgate Hotel standards and review sales and operations plans.
• Meet all financial review dates and corporate programs on schedule.
• Hold monthly financial reviews with department managers and supervisors.
• Ensure department heads maintain budgeted productivity and standard accounting procedures.
• Develop managers for future advancement through training programs and coaching.
• Participate in required MOD coverage and maintain contact with management trainees.
