Job description

Job Summary

Assists in the management of hotel operations to ensure efficiency and profitability. Ensures guest satisfaction across all outlets by maintaining high standards of products and services, while maximizing profitability through cost and labor control. Acts as the General Manager in their absence.

Essential Job Functions

This summary outlines primary responsibilities and qualifications. The hotel operates 24/7, so shifts may vary.

  1. Interview, select, train, schedule, coach, and support associates, ensuring performance aligns with brand standards and DHM core values.
  2. Oversee hotel departments to ensure excellent service and hospitality.
  3. Assist the GM with forecasts, reports, and budget development to maximize revenue and control expenses.
  4. Monitor guest satisfaction scores and brand standards, working to improve them.
  5. Resolve customer complaints and proactively address operational issues.
  6. Ensure internal audit standards are met.
  7. Collaborate with sales staff on strategies to improve occupancy and revenue.
  8. Maintain front office systems and equipment for optimal performance.
  9. Develop action plans to address guest service deficiencies.
  10. Support recruitment, hiring, supervision, training, and evaluation of department heads.
  11. Oversee service quality, operational efficiency, guest satisfaction, and standards compliance.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

The hotel may consider equivalent combinations of education and experience providing the following:

  • Minimum of 4+ years hotel management experience at the Department Head level or above.
  • Experience in full-service hotels.
  • Ability to foster a culture of accountability and build cohesive teams.
  • Strong managerial skills, including decision-making, negotiation, and planning.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and preparing complex reports.
  • Strong computer skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; hotel systems experience preferred.
  • Financial management skills, including understanding P&L statements, budgeting, forecasting, and scheduling.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to stand and move throughout the front office area.
  • Lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasional twisting, bending, reaching, standing, walking.
  • Frequent talking, hearing, seeing, and smiling.
