Job summary

HEI Hotels and Resorts in The Woodlands, TX is seeking a Night Audit/Accounts Associate to support the Controller in directing financial activities and safeguarding hotel assets. You will prepare financial reports in line with GAAP and HEI standards.

The role requires attention to detail, timely invoicing, and accurate city ledger and credit card reconciliations, with opportunities to develop accounting skills in a hospitality setting. On-site work with comprehensive benefits is provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred.
• Accounting and Hotel experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to compile facts and figures.
• Ability to operate personal computer and calculator.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences.

Responsibilities

• Sort and verify accuracy of Night Audit work (receivables focus) and reconcile banquet checks.
• Record department administration calls and inform Controller of concerns.
• Post city ledger payments in the PMS, reconcile and bill city ledger accounts.
• Perform follow-up billing and credit collection documentation.
• Reconcile credit card back-up to General Cashier Summary and report discrepancies.
• Process and pay approved invoices with signatures and back-up.
• Pay hotel invoices timely ensuring correct coding and discounts.
