Job summary

Solar Manufacturing is seeking a mechanically inclined individual for 1st shift Mechanical Assembly in a fast-paced industrial setting. You will assemble Hot Zones for vacuum furnaces, layout and fabricate sheet metal parts, and refurbish components with attention to detail.

Candidates should have 2–4 years in industrial manufacturing, accuracy in drawings, and the ability to operate shop tools. A strong safety mindset and the willingness to grow with the company are essential.

Qualifications

• Technical School degree or GED with relevant work experience.
• 2-4 years in industrial manufacturing, maintenance, or machine operation preferred.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and OEM manuals.
• Operate basic hand tools, measuring devices, portable power tools, and shop equipment.
• Basic metal fabrication including cutting, drilling, deburring, bending, and finishing.
• MIG and TIG welding are highly desirable.
• Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and overhead cranes.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and install Hot Zones and sub-assemblies for vacuum furnaces.
• Layout and fabricate stainless steel and molybdenum sheet metal parts.
• Assemble spare parts and refurbishment for existing furnaces.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Work efficiently while meeting quality standards and safety protocols.

We are currently searching for a reliable and motivated individual to join our Hot Zone Assembly Group for a 1st shift Mechanical Assembly position (6:00am - 2:30pm, Monday - Friday). We are seeking a skilled tradesman with mechanical assembly experience and familiarity of sheet metal fabrication, preferably in an industrial manufacturing setting.

• Technical School degree or High School Diploma (GED) plus relevant work experience.
• 2-4 years of industrial manufacturing, maintenance, or machine operation experience preferred .
• Proficiency in reading and understanding mechanical assembly drawings and schematics, equipment specifications, and OEM instruction manuals.
• Ability to operate basic hand tools, precision measuring devices, portable power tools, pneumatic and hydraulic tools, and stationary shop equipment such as a drill press .
• Possess basic metal fabrication skills including cutting, drilling, countersinking, deburring, grinding, tapping, measuring and fit up, shearing, and bending.
• Ability to perform MIG and TIG welding in highly desirable.
• Ability to competently operate material handling equipment such as forklift trucks, high lifts, and overhead cranes & hoists.
• Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, and work from heights above floor from ladders, high lifts, and boom lifts.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and 75 pounds occasionally.

What your day would be like:

• Mechanical assembly and installation of Hot Zones and their sub-assemblies for new vacuum furnaces.
• Layout, fabrication, and assembly of stainless steel and molybdenum sheet metal fabrications.
• Piece-part fabrication and assembly of hot zone components.
• Refurbishment or assembly of Replacement Hot Zones and spare parts for existing vacuum furnaces.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Work efficiently and safely while ensuring company quality standards are maintained and following safety protocols.
