Job summary

Solar Manufacturing is seeking a mechanically inclined individual for a 1st shift Mechanical Assembly role (6:00am – 2:30pm, Monday – Friday). The candidate will join the Mechanical Group to assemble vacuum furnaces and sub-assemblies, fabricate steel structures, and lay out sheet metal components.

The position requires 2–4 years in industrial manufacturing or automotive backgrounds, with proficiency in reading drawings and using basic tools.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of industrial manufacturing, maintenance, or machine operation experience preferred.
• Proficiency in reading and understanding mechanical assembly drawings and schematics.
• Ability to operate basic hand tools, precision measuring devices, pneumatic and hydraulic tools, and shop equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and construct vacuum furnaces and sub-assemblies.
• Fabricate and assemble steel structures, vacuum and gas flanged pipe assemblies.
• Layout and fabricate sheet metal components and enclosures.
• Plumb pneumatic lines for actuating components and water-cooling systems.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow safety protocols.
• Ensure quality standards are met in all tasks.

We are currently searching for a reliable and motivated individual to join our Mechanical Group for a 1st shift Mechanical Assembly position (6:00am – 2:30pm, Monday – Friday). We are seeking a skilled tradesman with experience in mechanical assembly, preferably in an industrial manufacturing setting or from automotive.

• Technical School degree or High School Diploma (GED) plus relevant work experience.
• 2-4 years of industrial manufacturing, maintenance, or machine operation experience preferred.
• Proficiency in reading and understanding mechanical assembly drawings and schematics, equipment specifications, and OEM instruction manuals.
• Ability to operate basic hand tools, precision measuring devices, portable power tools, pneumatic and hydraulic tools, and stationary shop equipment such as a drill press .
• Possess basic metal fabrication skills including cutting, drilling, countersinking, deburring, grinding, tapping, measuring and fit up, shearing, and bending.
• Ability to perform MIG and TIG welding is highly desirable.
• Ability to competently operate material handling equipment such as forklift trucks, high lifts, and overhead cranes & hoists.
• Ability to stand, stoop, kneel and work from heights above floor from ladders, high lifts, and boom lifts.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and 75 pounds occasionally.

What your day would be like:

• Mechanical assembly and construction of vacuum furnaces and their sub-assemblies.
• Fabrication and assembly of steel structures, vacuum and gas flanged pipe assemblies.
• Layout and fabrication of sheet metal components and enclosures.
• Plumbing of pneumatic lines for actuating components and water-cooling systems.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Work efficiently and safely while ensuring company quality standards are maintained and following safety protocols.
