Job summary

Century Aluminum Company in Goose Creek, SC seeks a Quality Coordinator for the casthouse to oversee the hot-side quality, ensuring billet, tee, and sow meets standards and timelines. You will also cover as a relief supervisor when needed and coordinate with production teams to boost uptime and safety.

The role requires strong communication, knowledge of aluminum processes, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. On-site work with a safety-focused team and ISO-aligned practices are expected.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with team members and management.
• Understanding of aluminum manufacturing processes, technology, and equipment is preferred, but not required.
• Understanding of Microsoft Office applications is preferred but not required. Use of Microsoft Office applications will be required and taught as needed.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain, audit, and improve billet casting quality and performance.
• Ensure standard work practices are being followed and improve upon current practices.
• Monitor, maintain, audit, and improve furnace handling techniques.
• Monitor, maintain, audit, and improve sow line caster.
• Coach casting team members on safety and quality.
• Collaborate with hot side supervisor, mold shop, process teams, and cold side technician.
• Troubleshoot low recovery, casting aborts, off analysis material, safety incidents, customer complaints.
