Job summary

Nucor Steel West Virginia LLC is seeking a Hot Mill Metallurgist to develop and implement practices improving safety, product quality, and cost performance at our new 3 million ton per year sheet mill in Mason County, WV. You will collaborate with customers, production teams, and technical staff to meet specifications.

Required is a Bachelor's in Metallurgical Engineering or Materials Science and 1–3 years in flat rolled sheet.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
• 1–3 years of flat rolled sheet experience.

Responsibilities

• Promote and uphold safety culture.
• Review inquiries and specifications for mill capability.
• Lead corrective action investigations and resolutions.
• Drive development and qualification of hot rolled products.
• Ensure products meet customer requirements and quality standards.
• Analyze production and quality data for process improvements.
• Support metallurgical troubleshooting throughout manufacturing.
