Job summary

Prairie Knights is seeking a Hot Line Cook to join our kitchen team at Fort Yates, ND. The role involves rotating and labeling stock, preparing items at the assigned station, and ensuring quality and presentation under the Executive Chef. Must meet age and licensing requirements and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Starting pay ranges from $14.72 to $18.40 per hour (DOE). High school diploma preferred; tribal Nongaming licensing may be required.

Responsibilities

• Rotates all food in the assigned refrigerator and labels containers.

Rotates all food in assigned refrigerator and places all food in dated, labeled and clean containers.2. Anticipates all and any menu requests.3. Prepares on time all food items designated to the assigned station in accordance with the standards of quantity, quality, taste, and presentation as established by the Executive Chef.4. Check all food for taste, temperature, and eye appeal.5. Inspects delivery of food to ensure the highest level of quality.6. Prevents the spoiling and contamination of foods by practicing proper sanitation and complying with health regulations.7. Adheres to recipes and food pictures to ensure uniformity and consistency.8. Consults with Executive chef on forecasted business volumes. Prepares or ensure preparation of menu in place for next day.9. Complies with department rules, policies, and procedures.10. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.11. May be required to assist in other departments when necessary or for training purposes.12. Maintaining Title 31 Compliance accurately.13. Other duties as assigned.**PREREQUISITES****General:** Must be age 18 or older. Must qualify for a Tribal Nongaming license.**Education:** High school diploma or GED preferred but not required. Must be able to communicate in the primary language used in the workplace.**Experience:** A minimum of 1 year in a food preparation position desirable.**Physical:** Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for periods up to four hours in length. Must have the ability to lift pots, pans, and other items up to 50 pounds. Requires normal vision, including color acuity and depth perception, reaching, bending, stooping, grasping, finger dexterity and hand/eye coordination. Must be able to perform safely and effectively in conditions of wet floors and temperature extremes.
