Job summary

Prairie Knights in Fort Yates, ND is seeking a Cash Desk Cashier to manage a fast-paced cashiering environment and maintain an accurate float. You will serve guests with courteous service, balance the cash drawer, and ensure the security of the cage throughout your shift.

Responsibilities include replenishing the bank, avoiding shortages, logging Title 31 compliance, and performing duties as assigned. Starting pay ranges from $14.72 to $18.40 per hour with benefits in a competitive tribal gaming

Qualifications

• Must be 21 or older and eligible for Tribal Key Gaming License.
• Math test required.
• HS diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year cashiering in high-volume environment.
• Ability to stand for periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
• Must not be color blind.
• Must communicate in the workplace language.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a balanced float and replenish the bank as needed.
• Front-line guest service: be polite, friendly, and helpful.
• Ensure security of the cage and prevent unauthorized access.
• Carry out cashiering duties throughout each shift.
• Log and maintain Title 31 compliance accurately.
• Be accountable for any shortages or overages in the bank.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Cashier is responsible for a float (bank) that must always be kept in balance.2. Responsible for making buys to replenish the bank so the proper level is maintained.3. The Cashier is a front-line guest service employee, must be polite, friendly, and helpful always with the guest.4. Responsible for the security of the cage and will prevent access by an unauthorized person.5. Will be responsible for all aspects of cashiering throughout the duration of the shift.6. The Cashier is personally accountable for any shortage or overage in his or her bank at the end of the shift.7. RBS certified and practiced this knowledge daily.8. Responsible for logging and maintaining Title 31 compliance accurately.9. Maintaining Title 31 Compliance accurately.10. Other duties as assigned.**PREREQUISITES**General: Must be age 21 or older. Must qualify for a Tribal Key Gaming License. Math test required.Education: High school diploma or GED preferred but not required. Must be able to communicate in the primary language used in the workplace.Experience: Minimum of one year’s experience in a high volume, fast paced cashiering environment. Bank teller experience preferred.Physical: Requires bending, finger dexterity, grasping, standing and/or walking for periods of up to four hours with no break; must be able to lift to 30 pounds, and must not be color blind.
