Job summary

Park MGM in Las Vegas is seeking a Hostperson for The Library to warmly welcome guests, coordinate seating with servers, and maintain an elegant front-of-house in alignment with Park MGM’s standards.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of experience in upscale dining, must be 21+, and OpenTable experience is preferred. Starting rate is $21.4113 USD per hour, with opportunities to grow within MGM Resorts International.

THE JOB:

As a Hostperson for The Library at Park MGM, you will set a spectacular first impression by welcoming guests in a warm, courteous, and timely manner to our intimate, book‑lined retreat. Serving as the vital first point of contact, you will keep our beautiful front‑of‑house clean and organized while working hand‑in‑hand with our servers, bussers, and runners to coordinate seating, manage table flow, and deliver seamless, refined hospitality in alignment with Park MGM’s non‑smoking standards.

THE STARTING RATE:

$21.4113 USD Hourly

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

• Communicate with Restaurant Reservations regarding special orders, cake orders, special requests – responsible for conveying all such information to management
• Maintain knowledge of scheduled daily activities and in‑house groups, daily house count, table/seat/station numbers, proper table set ups, room capacity, hours of operation, price range and dress code of the restaurant
• Greet guests promptly as they enter the restaurant
• Answer phones, keep accurate count of reservations and handle reservation book
• Ensure menus have proper inserts and are current according to the most recent change, and replace all menus in poor condition
• Communicate the needs of the guests to the kitchen and management, inform management of guest reactions and comments, and assist management as needed to ensure smooth operation and quality service
• Frequently check back with guests who are waiting to be seated; make it evident to guests that they have not been forgotten and that tables are being prepared for them
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas; shut down podium and forward phones to voice‑loop at end of shift

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays required
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• 2+ years of prior relevant experience as a Hostperson in a Fine Dining restaurant or similar Upscale environment preferred
• Previous experience with Open Table system preferred
