Job summary

Parsec, Inc. is seeking a Ground Person to direct crane operators, prepare railcars, and drive trailers with containers around a rail yard to support loading and unloading operations.

Your role includes operating in multiple shift times and ensuring safe loading procedures while complying with company safety rules and post-offer checks. This position offers outdoor work in all weather with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Willing and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Open availability to work day, swing, night, weekends, and holidays.
• Must comply with safety rules, policies and procedures, including wearing safety equipment.
• Documented post-offer, pre-employment checks including criminal background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Directs crane operator in unloading/loading cargo containers and assists in preparing railcars for loading.
• Installs inter box connector locks (IBC) and climbs on rail cars to remove/install IBC locks.
• Sets the derailer and spots chassis for inbound containers.
• Parks inbound trailers/containers and spots outbound trailers/containers for loading.
• Clears bare chassis away from tracks.

Summary:

Responsible for directing crane operators in moving cargo containers and prepares railcars for loading and unloading. Once trained to operate a hostler you will drive trailers and chassis with containers around the rail yard terminal as they are loaded and unloaded to/from the train.

Shift Time: Must be able to work any of the following shift times assigned

• 6:00 am to 2:30 pm
• 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm
• 10:00 pm to 6:30 am
