Job summary

Hai Hospitality is seeking Hosts to support service by managing reservations and walk-ins, setting guest expectations, and providing cocktail service for waiting guests. Hosts earn an average of $22 per hour (base pay plus tips).

Qualifications

• Must communicate effectively with guests and coworkers.
• Detect and identify safety issues, and comply with safety guidelines.
• Lift and carry trays, dishes, equipment, and goods up to 50 lbs, stock inventory, and perform restocking duties.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, stoop, and reach to access areas and items.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Ability to work in different temperatures (hot and cold).
• Move tables and chairs to reconfigure seating arrangements.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently (ovens, grills, knives).
• Maintain a neat, organized workspace with proper storage and cleaning.

Responsibilities

• Acquaint yourself with our menu and Japanese cuisine.
• Learn about beer, wine, and sake and provide cocktail service to guests waiting for tables.
• Maintain awareness of dining room pace and coordinate with team for smooth table turns.
• Review and plan table placement and guest notes for reservations.
• Update guests while they wait for their table.
• Support service by managing reservations and walk-ins.
