POSITION SUMMARY: The incumbent in this position is responsible for all activities pertaining to cleaning and maintenance of all food and beverage wares, kitchens, and service areas. The organization, sanitation, and cost of operations must be consistent with the overall Food & Beverage goals and objectives.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to make Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana their choice for gaming entertainment; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to team members in order to provide superior guest service.
- Welcomes every guest to improve guest satisfaction and promote positive guest relations.
- Escorts guests to their tables/booths in a courteous and friendly manner.
- Inspects dining area and sets the table/booth when necessary.
- Practices and observes safety rules and regulations in all dining areas.
- Responsible for all comps and reservation sheets.
- Runs required reports for the server, the micro’s cashier report, and the batch report from the credit card machine.
- Presents check and collects settlement for all necessary items.
- Serves efficiently between 25-35 guests per half-hour.
- Completes all opening and closing side duties.
- Stocks areas with all necessary items during and at the end of the shift.
- Maintains cleanliness of all dining areas.
- Has detailed knowledge of all food menu items.
- Rings all financial transactions accurately.
- Follows all policies and procedures regarding alcohol.
- Responsible for abiding to all cash handling policies and procedures.
- Picks up and returns bank and revenue to and from the cage or cash room.
- Accurately verifies all banks received and returned from the cage or cash room.
- Takes reservations when necessary.
- Is knowledgeable of events.
- Performs other departmental duties as directed by management.
Non-essential Functions
- Attends seminars when needed.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or G.E.D. preferred. Must have strong mathematical skills.
- Ability to read and write English required. Two years’ guest service experience in a family or formal dining environment.
- Casino Food & Beverage experience preferred.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must obtain and maintain all licenses/certifications per Federal, State, and Indiana Gaming Commission.
- Must successfully pass background check and drug screening.
- Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
- Must be bilingual in English and one Asian language (e.g., Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese).
- Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and flexible shifts.
Knowledge Of
- Ability to anticipate guest and employee needs.
- Good communication skills and maintaining a friendly, personable attitude at all times.
Ability To
- Possess valid Food Handlers Card, Liquor License, and IGC Badge when working.
- Stand for 50%, walk 45%, sit 5% of shift.
- Lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
- Work in noisy and smoke-filled environments.
