Job summary

Artisanal Brewing Ventures in Buffalo, New York is seeking a Host to serve as the face of their brand in the taproom. Host – Responsibilities

Serve as the face of our brand in the taproom, greeting guests warmly and ensuring a welcoming, organized experience from arrival to seating. Answer the telephone and use Table Maintenance technology to manage the wait and floor plan. Coordinate with other staff to ensure smooth operation and an exceptional guest experience. Process merchandise transactions accurately using the POS system. Provide product knowledge and answer guest questions about merchandise. Restock the merchandise cooler and retail space. Monitor inventory and assist with restocking. Maintain general cleanliness of the host area, front taproom, and merchandise area. Assist with side‑work duties such as dining area cleaning, silverware prep, refilling condiments, restock restrooms, and other assigned tasks.

Pay: Starts at $16 per hour.

Reports to: General Manager or Front of House Manager on duty.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age (17 allowed in certain counties)
• At least one year of related experience preferred
• Excellent interpersonal skills and comfort discussing products in detail with guests
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment
• Ability to use Table Maintenance technology to manage wait and floor plan
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with POS systems
• Must be able to remain standing for extended periods
• Must be able to lift and carry at least 20 pounds
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent bending, stooping, and reaching
