Sycuan is seeking a friendly Host/Hostess to greet and seat guests across casino and restaurant areas. The role involves verifying age, managing guest counts, and coordinating with servers to ensure timely seating and excellent service.

The ideal candidate will handle cash transactions, balance money, and assist in maintaining clean, welcoming dining spaces while following responsible alcohol service guidelines when required.

Qualifications

• Essential: County of San Diego Food Handler Card.
• Desirable: High School Diploma, GED.
• Desirable: Guest or Hospitality service experience, Restaurant server experience, Casino experience, 6 months cash handling experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet and seat guests entering casino and restaurant areas.
• Acknowledge guests, verify age, enter guest counts, and coordinate with servers.
• Provide menu information, answer questions, and share promotional information.
• Maintain clean, sanitary dining areas and reset tables.
• Ensure stations are stocked and clean, roll silverware, fold napkins, and clean host stations.
• Process cash transactions, balance drawers, and log discounts/vouchers as needed.
• Monitor and enforce responsible alcohol service when applicable.

Job Purpose:

Greets and seats guests

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Provides guests with serviceby acknowledging and welcoming guests entering the casino and restaurant areas, verifying appropriate age on identification for patrons entering the restaurant, entering guest count information into the guest seating program, paging servers, paging guests when table is available, seating guests, and responding to guest requests.
2. Promotes guest relationsby answering guest questions, providing menu information, explaining the guest seating program when applicable, providing up to date promotional contests and giveaways information, giving any needed assistance, and treating guests in a friendly and courteous manner.
3. Maintains safe and sanitary dining areasby cleaning surfaces, picking up used plates, cups and utensils, disposing of trash, wiping down tables, and resetting tables following established procedures.
4. Ensures work stations are stocked and cleanby rolling silverware, folding napkins, setting tables, and cleaning Host/Hostess stations according to established procedures.
5. Providing accounting transactions during shift as neededby entering cash transactions in to point-of-sale system, counting currency, logging guest discounts, vouchers, VIP points and credit cards on to cashier drop work sheet, balancing money drawer against generated cashier report following established procedures, and reporting discrepancies to the food services management team.
6. When providing coverage in alcohol venues, ensures responsible alcohol beverage service policies are followedby asking for proper identification from guests that appear to be under the age of 30, monitoring alcohol consumption, ensuring guests do not become intoxicated following established procedures, stopping alcohol service at the designated time, and clearing the room of all alcoholic containers, glasses and bottles for each venue at the time specified.
