Fairmont Breakers is a beloved feature of the Long Beach skyline, a historic landmark with character and soul. Originally opened in the 1920s as a luxurious waterfront hotel, it was a sought-after destination for world-famous stars. After extensive renovations, Fairmont Breakers has been restored as Long Beach's only luxury hotel, offering 185 boutique rooms and suites, a rooftop pool and terrace, an open-air rooftop lounge with Pacific views, a two-story spa, wellness and fitness center, dining venues including a live jazz club, and 10,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space. Guests can enjoy elevated coastal Italian cuisine in Nettuno or indulge in champagne and caviar in the Sky Room, all within artful surroundings and innovative culinary offerings.

Job Description

1. Uphold the Fairmont Breakers values and mission statement while performing responsibilities.
2. Adhere to company policies and procedures outlined in the employee handbook.
3. Consistently provide professional, friendly, and engaging service.
4. Interact with arriving and departing guests.
5. Answer phones following company standards and etiquette.
6. Take, record, and confirm reservations accurately according to guidelines.
7. Use the Open Table system to input bookings and monitor guest progress.
8. Communicate clearly and concisely with team members regarding guest needs.
9. Escort guests to their tables in the dining area.
10. Serve as a point of contact between guests and management.
11. Create a friendly, attentive, and memorable dining experience through engagement.
12. Tailor guest experiences to individual preferences.
13. Be knowledgeable about all menu items, property services, and amenities.
14. Assist with cleaning, clearing, and setting tables.
15. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the restaurant.
16. Familiarize with all food outlets and hotel amenities.
17. Assist with inventory and requisition processes as needed.
18. Be informed about city information and hotel history.
19. Represent the department, property, and brand positively.
20. Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
21. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and high organization.
• Legible handwriting.
• Calm, warm demeanor.
• Ability to work under pressure and independently.
• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
• Preferred experience in upscale customer service settings.
• Previous hosting experience is a plus.
• Ability to pass Food, Beverage, and Service Knowledge Quizzes.
