Job summary

Churchill Downs Incorporated in Sioux City is seeking a friendly Host to greet and seat guests for food and beverage service, helping to maintain smooth seating flow and service in the dining room. You will use multiple communication devices and coordinate with team members, ensuring guest relations and loyalty opportunities while keeping the podium and dining area clean and orderly.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, experience in customer service or food & beverage,

• Basic knowledge of menu items and service as well as restaurant operations and culinary terminology.
• Basic knowledge of dining room standards and procedures.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Customer service or food & beverage experience preferred.
• Must obtain valid gaming license, where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Greets guests on arrival and regards on departure in a warm and inviting manner.
• Maintains full knowledge of restaurant lay-out and seats patrons based off of specific layout.
• Works with communication devices such as telephones, two-way radio, guest paging system, and both computerized and manual table management system.
• Interacts with guests to maintain great guest relations and provide opportunities for loyalty.
• Ensures and maintains cleanliness and orderliness of the host podium and ensures the dining room floor is presentable at all times.
• Communicates to management in a timely fashion any guest compliments or complaints.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
