Job summary

Pyramid Global Hospitality is seeking a Food and Beverage Host/Supervisor for The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center in Roanoke, VA. You will be part of a luxury, full-service resort team delivering exceptional guest experiences at a historic property.

AM shift: 6am to 3pm (closing time may vary with events). Must have weekend/holiday availability. Compensation is hourly, with options to lead, train staff, and optimize service and cost controls.

Qualifications

• Experience in a luxury hotel restaurant or full-service resort.
• Knowledge of Micros POS system.
• Ability to make quick decisions under stress.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Positive, pleasant personality and well organized.

Responsibilities

• Attend weekly meetings, relaying information about upcoming events to staff under supervision.
• Share information about capabilities and programs to other departments and clients.
• Respond to needs and requests of guests and potential guests.
• Ensure that food, beverage and service standards meet first-class operation levels.
• Implement effective cost controls for food, beverage and labor.
• Utilize inventory, receiving and product utilization systems.
• Lead by following productivity standards for food & beverage staff.
• Create a comfortable atmosphere to encourage committed and loyal employees.
• Assist with hiring and training programs for food and beverage personnel.
• Support other Food and Beverage outlets as needed.
• Provide host stand coverage.

What you will have an opportunity to do:

We are looking for a highly motivated and analytical individual to join our team as Food and Beverage Host/ Supervisor. This individual is a proactive solution seeker, they lead by example, don’t settle for the normal, and continuously encourage and engage their team members. They will assist in providing the leadership required to achieve the fiduciary and quality goals for the Food and Beverage operation. They will ensure the effective and efficient operation of all facets of the Food and Beverage operation, while improving on the current model and be responsible for managing in a manner consistent with the mission, operating philosophy, standards, and values of the Benchmark.

Your Role:

What are we looking for?

• Previous experience working at a Restaurant in a luxury hotel and or full service resort.
• Knowledge of Micros.
• Ability to make quick decisions in high stress situations.
