Job summary

Backyard Dallas is seeking a part-time Host(ess) to greet guests, guide them to tables and help ensure a smooth dining experience. You’ll be the first friendly face guests meet and a key part of our service team.

Responsibilities include managing seating and wait lists, presenting menus and daily specials, and maintaining an inviting entrance area. You must know the menu, allergens, and promotions, communicate wait times clearly, and stay groomed and professional.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality or restaurant front-of-house.
• Knowledge of reservation and seating systems.
• Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests as they arrive with a friendly and positive attitude.
• Manage seating arrangements and wait list to maximize seating capacity.
• Maintain an organized entrance area, inviting and presentable for guests.
• Guide guests to tables, present menus and inform them of specials.
• Have comprehensive knowledge of the menu, ingredients, and allergens.
• Communicate wait times clearly and provide updates as needed.
• Stay updated on promotions and events to relay accurate information.
• Adhere to uniform standards and maintain grooming and hygiene.
• Communicate effectively with guests, coworkers and management.
• Obtain and maintain any required work licenses or cards.
• Follow all policies and be flexible for other duties.
