Job summary

Trapper's Sushi in Enumclaw, WA is seeking a Host / Cashier – FOH to warmly greet guests, manage the waitlist and seating flow, answer phones, and handle takeout orders with accuracy. You will work closely with servers, managers, and kitchen staff to keep the front of house running smoothly, process payments, maintain a clean host stand, and uphold our TRAPCHK values in a fast-paced dining room.

Washington State Food Worker Card is required or obtained within 14 days.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service or hospitality experience preferred but not required.
• Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to engage with guests in a friendly, professional manner.
• Ability to multitask and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail when entering orders, quoting wait times, and processing payments.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Washington State Food Worker Card required, or must be obtained within 14 days of beginning work.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.

Responsibilities

• Greet all guests with warmth, enthusiasm, and a genuine desire to create a memorable experience.
• Manage the waitlist, seating rotation, and table availability to keep service flowing smoothly.
• Answer phones promptly and take takeout orders with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Process payments, handle cash and card transactions, and follow all cash-handling procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand, lobby, menus, and restrooms as assigned.
• Communicate clearly with servers, managers, and kitchen staff about seating, large parties, and special requests.
• Monitor lobby conditions and guest needs, including ADA access and accommodations.
• Support to-go order packaging and accuracy when volume requires.
• Follow all company safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards, including proper chemical handling and PPE use when cleaning.

Compensation: $17.13 per hour + tips.

The Physical Stuff

• Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions while managing front-door flow.
