Job summary

Trapper's Sushi in Tukwila, WA seeks an experienced Bartender to provide exceptional front-of-house service in a fast-paced setting. You will craft drinks, guide guests through our menu, and work closely with servers and managers to ensure smooth service.

Qualifications

• Previous bartending or related experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of mixology, drink recipes, and bar equipment.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid Washington State MAST permit (Class 12) required prior to your first day of work.
• Washington State Food Worker Card required, or must be obtained within 14 days of beginning work.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to company recipes and guest preferences.
• Provide excellent guest service by fostering a friendly, professional, and welcoming atmosphere at the bar.
• Check identification and follow all state, local, and company guidelines for responsible alcohol service and guest safety.
• Guide guests through the drink and food menu, including recommendations and pairings.
• Handle cash, credit card, and POS transactions accurately and follow all cash-handling procedures.
• Restock, rotate, and maintain bar inventory, ensuring accuracy and freshness of products.
• Prepare garnishes and bar mixes and keep the bar well stocked throughout service.
• Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the bar and surrounding areas.
• Communicate clearly with servers, managers, and kitchen staff to support smooth service.
• Complete opening, running, and closing duties, including setup, breakdown, and side work.
• Support fellow team members to keep front-of-house operations running smoothly.

We're looking for a Bartender who is personable, knowledgeable, and responsible.

You're someone who makes great drinks and keeps the bar a welcoming place to be. You thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and can balance speed and accuracy while following all alcohol service laws.

You're comfortable building rapport with guests at the bar and working closely with servers, hosts, and managers to keep front-of-house running smoothly. You enjoy crafting drinks, recommending pairings, and creating an atmosphere guests want to come back to.

Compensation: $21.65 per hour + tips.

The Physical Stuff

• Restaurant-based work environment behind a busy bar.
• Ability to stand, walk, and reach for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally, with or without assistance.
• Constant in-person interaction with guests and team members.
• Exposure to alcohol, cleaning chemicals, hot and cold surfaces, wet floors, and moderate noise levels.
• Use of required PPE, including non-slip footwear.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
