Job Description

The Host/Cashier is responsible for providing superior service to both the internal and external customer, greeting guests, arranging seating, and performing all sales transactions in accordance with Belterra Casino Resort customer service standards.

Responsibilities

• Actively build and retain customer relations, mentoring other employees while delivering superior customer service.
• Handle difficult customers in all business conditions and work harmoniously with coworkers.
• Greets guests in a friendly, courteous manner and arranges for seating; monitors room atmosphere.
• Provide information on all aspects of Boyd Gaming’s services and facilities to guests.
• Quote accurate waiting times and manage guest waiting lists or reservations per established procedures.
• Handle pickup, countdown, and return of cash bank from miscellaneous count.
• Open register, prepare, and complete all paperwork for the assigned outlet in an organized manner.
• Answer inquiries before completing sales transactions.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with guests.
• Demonstrated proper telephone etiquette.
• Demonstrated ability to operate an electronic reservation system and flow charts.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain all appropriate licenses/certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.
• Must be at least 16 years of age.

These skills and abilities are typically acquired through two (2) months of on‑the‑job training or through related cashier or host experience.
