The Mather in Tysons, VA is seeking a friendly Host to welcome residents, guests, and team members. You’ll greet guests, assist with seating, manage reservations, and help keep dining service running smoothly in a fast-paced environment.

Be the Welcoming Face of The Mather's Dining Experience

Join The Mather's Food & Beverage team as a Host and help create a welcoming experience for residents, family members, guests, and team members. As the first point of contact in our restaurants, you'll greet guests, assist with seating, manage reservations, and help keep dining service running smoothly. You'll also have the opportunity to build connections, make people feel welcome, and create meaningful moments throughout their dining experience.

We're looking for someone who enjoys interacting with people, is comfortable multitasking, and can think on their feet in a fast-paced environment. If you're friendly, organized, comfortable using technology, and take pride in making others feel welcome, we'd love to meet you.

This part-time role is 15 hours per week. Shifts are mainly in the afternoons and evenings and may vary based on scheduling needs. Weekend availability is required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Greets and welcomes residents and guests with a smile and welcoming demeanor.
• Assists with seating while maximizing dining room space and facilitates timely service.
• Oversees quick and efficient reset of restaurant.
• Manages Reservation system including taking and canceling reservations, managing walk ins and waitlist.
• Creates meaningful moments in the lives of residents, visitors, and staff by demonstrating welcoming and friendly behaviors.
• Inspects workstation areas for completion of assigned side work.
• Helps to monitor workflow between service team and production team.
• Assists with coordination and set up of themed meals and events.
• Assists with monitoring of safe food handling, proper personal hygiene, uniform compliance, and proper sanitation procedures within the department.
• Assists Residents with online technology including online ordering, online reservations and online meal plan management.
• Identifies areas for improvement, proposes possible solutions, and participates in data collection and process changes as part of the Quality Assurance Process Improvement process.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Required:

• Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and to make independent decisions.
• Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledgeable with technology.

Preferred:

• 1+ years of experience in a dining service environment.
• Certification, or ability to obtain certification, in BASSET.

The hourly base wage range provided is a good faith estimate of what Mather reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of the posting. The actual hourly rate offered will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to relevant skills, certifications, years of experience, geographic location, and current market conditions. Hourly Pay Range

$20 - $22 USD
