Job summary

The Mather Tysons is seeking an Assistant Restaurant Manager to partner with the Restaurant Manager in daily operations, lead a service-minded team, and deliver exceptional dining for residents and guests. You will train staff, handle reservations, and ensure consistent, high-quality service in a full-time on-site role.

Weekend, weeknight, and holiday availability is required. The role includes budgeting collaboration, QA improvements, and a strong focus on hospitality excellence in a luxury

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Progressive experience in an upscale restaurant and/or Life Plan community.
• Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and make independent decisions.
• Proficient in Windows applications including Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Knowledgeable in Point-of-Sale systems.
• Knowledgeable in job related federal, state, and local regulations to ensure safe and clean dining environment.
• Certification in food safety/sanitation and BASSET.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Restaurant Manager in scheduling and training of restaurant team members.
• Manage reservation system and server assignments across meal periods.
• Ensure the even flow of guests to provide a positive resident and guest experience and a quality food product.
• Supervise the flow of service to ensure residents, guests, family members, and staff receive quality dining service.
• Inspect workstations for completion of assigned side work.
• Respond to resident feedback addressing concerns in a timely, professional manner.
• Maintain timely and professional communication with Restaurant Manager, Director of Restaurants and Executive Chef.
• Work with management to ensure budgetary compliance.
• Manage and maintain equipment to operate the restaurants at or above Mather standards.
• Coordinate and execute theme meals and related billing processes for events.
• Establish, operationalize, engage team members in, and sustain a Quality Assurance Process Improvement process.

As our Assistant Restaurant Manager, you'll partner with the Restaurant Manager to support the daily operations of our restaurants and help lead a talented service team. You'll provide hands-on guidance, support team development, and help ensure consistent, high-quality service across restaurant operations. From training and supporting team members to addressing resident and guest concerns and helping resolve service challenges, you'll play an important role in creating seamless restaurant experiences.

This is a full-time, on-site position where you'll have the opportunity to lead by example, develop a strong service team, and contribute to a restaurant environment where exceptional hospitality, wellness-focused dining, and genuine connections come together. Weekend, weeknight, and holiday availability is required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Collaborates with Restaurant Manager in the timely selection, orientation, scheduling and on-going training and performance management of restaurant team members.
• Manages reservation system, assigns server sections at all meal periods that require reservations.
• Ensures the even flow of guests into the restaurant, to provide a positive resident and guest experience and a quality food product.
• Supervises the flow of service to ensure that residents, guests, family members, and staff receive quality dining service.
• Inspects workstations for completion of assigned side work.
• Responds to resident feedback addressing concerns in a timely, professional manner.
• Maintains timely and professional communication with the Restaurant Manager, Director of Restaurants and the Executive Chef and shares all food comments and suggestions with the Executive Chef.
• Works with restaurant management to help ensure budgetary compliance.
• Responsible, along with the other members of the restaurant supervisory team, to manage and maintain the equipment necessary to successfully operate the restaurants at or above Mather service standards.
• Coordinates and executes theme meals and/or functions and related billing processes and provides accurate and timely information to the Restaurant Manager so that billing for events/functions can occur and resident satisfaction is ensured.
• Establishes, operationalizes, engages team members in, and sustains a Quality Assurance Process Improvement process.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

The salary base wage range provided is a good faith estimate of what Mather reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of the posting. The actual salary rate offered will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to relevant skills, certifications, years of experience, geographic location, and current market conditions. This position may be eligible to participate in Mather’s benefit plan and the Team Member Appreciation Fund, if applicable. Eligibility for benefits is dependent on employment status and hours worked per pay period. Salary Pay Range

$66,000 - $76,500 USD
