Job summary

Velveteen Plum in Wausau, WI, is seeking a friendly Host to deliver exceptional guest service and support the dining team under the General Manager’s direction.

You will greet guests, answer calls, assist with reservations, bus and reset tables, and help maintain a clean, organized dining room. The role requires punctuality, teamwork, and good menu knowledge in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Qualifications

• Responsibilities include delivering exceptional guest service under direction of the General Manager.
• Tasks may include answering phone calls per restaurant needs and guidelines.
• Greet guests promptly at the host stand and seat guests to ensure a welcoming experience.
• Bus and reset tables as needed and assist with reservations as required.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized dining environment.
• Possess foundational restaurant industry knowledge and understanding of menu items.
• Work professionally with fellow employees and adhere to scheduling commitments.

Job description

From the creators of Mezzanine in Egg Harbor, Mikey's in Plover, and Tine & Cellar in Weston comes Velveteen Plum. Wausau's first rooftop restaurant and cocktail lounge, striving to extend past the expected through innovative and approachable flavors and atmosphere. With a 5,500 sq. ft. patio and outdoor bar, guests will not only rethink what it means to enjoy an outdoor meal, but what it means to be a Wausau resident.

Individuals holding this title will be responsible for exceptional guest service via the direction of the General Manager. Employees in this position will be required (but not limited) to perform the tasks listed.

This position is eligible to earn tips. The average host will earn $15.00 - $25.00 in tips per 4-hour shift.
