Job summary

North Beach Social is seeking a friendly Host to warmly greet guests, escort them to tables, and maintain a clean, welcoming dining area. You will contribute to a smooth service flow and help guests feel at home from arrival to departure.

We value experience in hosting or customer service, basic English communication, and a strong team attitude. This role offers full-time and/or part-time hours with benefits for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• 2 years’ hosting or customer service experience.
• Ability to read product labels and communicate with guests in basic English.
• Preferred: high school diploma or GED.
• Customer service experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Courteously greet and escort guests to tables and assist in seating.
• Assist in preparing the restaurant for service and maintain cleanliness.
• Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
• Be familiar with menus and highlight items for guests on request.
• Know table and seat numbers and proper setups.
• Guide servers and bus persons in table setup.
• Be aware of wait times and notify guests during busy periods.
• Answer restaurant phone courteously and efficiently.
• Ensure guests had a pleasant dining experience on departure.
• Close duties as assigned.
• Restock supplies and merchandise.
• Keep merchandise displayed neatly.
• Communicate with servers/kitchen to synchronize timing with guest flow.
• All other duties as assigned.

The role of Host is responsible for being an upbeat and kind presence to greet guests when they enter our organization. It is key for the Host to remain positive and courteous with each and every guest while welcoming and escorting them to the appropriate location/table.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Courteously greet and escort guests to tables and assist in seating.
• Assist in preparing the restaurant for service and always maintaining the cleanliness of the space
• Maintain positive guest relations at all times
• Be familiar with the menus of the restaurant and be able to highlight items for guests upon request
• Maintain complete knowledge of table and seat numbers, proper table setups
• Guide servers and bus persons in table set-up
• Be aware of wait times and notify the guests during busy times
• Answer restaurant telephone courteously and efficiently
• Extend courteous departures as guests leave to ensure guest had a pleasant dining experience
• Complete closing duties as assigned
• Restock supplies and merchandise
• Manage and display merchandise neatly
• Keep in constant contact with the servers, manager, and the kitchen to ensure timing and food preparation is synchronized with guest flow
• All other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• 2 years experience hosting or in customer service
• Sufficient education and literacy are needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate with guests about job-related needs
• Ability to read, write, speak, and communicate in basic English preferred
• Experience in customer service is strongly preferred
• Preferred - high school diploma or GED
