Job summary

Global Gourmet Catering in San Francisco seeks a Host to create a welcoming, organized first and last impression for guests at War Memorial. You will manage arrivals, seating, reservations, and host stand organization while supporting smooth restaurant service.

You will collaborate with management, servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff to maintain exceptional guest service and a well-organized dining room during busy events.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests with a friendly, professional attitude.
• Check in guests with reservations and provide accurate wait times for walk-ins.
• Escort guests to tables and provide menus.
• Manage the floor plan and track open, occupied, and dirty/resetting tables.
• Rotate table assignments fairly among Union servers.
• Accommodate seating requests, including high chairs, booster seats, and preferred seating areas.
• Answer phone calls and assist with questions, hours, and future reservations.
• Communicate with servers and kitchen staff regarding large parties, VIPs, and special requests.
• Keep menus clean and the host/waiting area neat and organized.
• Support the team and maintain a positive, professional guest experience throughout service.

Job Summary

The Host is responsible for creating a welcoming, organized, and professional first and last impression for guests at War Memorial. The Host manages guest arrival, reservations, seating assignments, section balance, guest communication, and host stand organization while supporting smooth and efficient restaurant service.

The Host works closely with management, servers, bussers, food runners, culinary staff, expeditors, bartenders, guest services, and other support staff to maintain excellent guest service and an organized dining room.
