Job summary

Position Overview

The Food Runner supports the front-of-house team by ensuring that food is delivered quickly, accurately, and professionally to guests. This role helps maintain smooth service flow, high-quality presentation, and excellent guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver food orders from the kitchen to guests promptly and with attention to detail.
  • Confirm that each dish matches the ticket, including modifiers/allergies.
  • Assist servers with clearing plates, resetting tables, and refilling water as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure timing and accuracy.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of service stations, expo line, and dining areas.
  • Support the overall guest experience with friendly, attentive service.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Assist with running trays, restocking supplies, folding napkins, and other operational tasks as needed.
Qualifications
  • Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs frequently.
  • Must be able to work up to 12 hours standing, walking, and being on your feet for long periods of time. Shifts vary by event.
  • Must possess excellent teamwork, friendly professional, outgoing demeanor with the ability to interact with guests, coworkers and management.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High School graduate or GED equivalent.
  • 1 year of customer service or hospitality related experience required.

ABILITIES:
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry equipment as needed for all events.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to any requests from guests, clients and management.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all guests and clients.
  • Must be able to carry large and small serving trays with food and/or beverage.
  • A self directed worker able to navigate various tasks and manage priorities as needed.
  • Develop cooperative working relationships with team members.
  • Setup, execution, and clean-up for all events.
  • Perform any and all duties with regular contact with guests, clients and employees.
  • Maintain confidentiality during all events and ensure we do not infringe on the guests' experience.
  • Understand & carry out instructions and comply with any and all standards and policies of GGC.
Physical Requirements

* Stand and walk for extended periods

* Bend, stoop, and reach frequently

* Lift and carry up to 50 pounds

* Push and pull food service equipment and supplies

* Work in various temperature conditions
