Responsibilities

• Reports to work in proper uniform.

• Maintains reception area and restrooms cleanliness and stocking.
• Accurately processes guest checks with correct cash handling.
• Anticipates and resolves system issues to satisfy guests.
• Assists pantry maintenance and pre-rush organization.
• Supports servers and bus staff to uphold Perkins service standards.
• Keeps cash register area stocked and performs cash handling procedures.
• Communicates with Manager on Duty about issues.
• Monitors food temperatures to reduce foodborne illness risk.
• Has knowledge of menu to suggest items to guests.
• Maintains bakery cases and restocks.
• Understands bakery products to support suggestive selling and sampling.
• Packages products according to standards.

Restaurant Background: On December 7th, 1982, the doors to the very first Ruby's Diner opened at the end of the Balboa Pier in Newport Beach, CA. What once was an old bait shop had been transformed into a sparkling diner with authentic antique decor, jiving tunes from a past time, and friendly service - Ruby's Diner was seemingly straight from the 1940's. The tiny 45-seat restaurant, which was named after its founder's mother, Ruby, opened with just three employees and a simple menu of hamburgers, hot dogs, and malts. In its first day, it brought in a whopping $63, but most importantly, smiling guests looking to remember a simpler, happier time.

Now, over 35 years later, over 30 Ruby's Diner restaurants can be found in all different parts of the country such as California, Nevada, Texas, and Pennsylvania, including mall, casino, and airport locations. We're proud to continue our legacy of providing guests with quality service, delicious diner cuisine, and what we like to call Ruby Magic. POSITION ACTIVITIES AND TASKS:

• Reports to work in proper and clean uniform.
• Uses greeting, seating, and waiting list procedures.
• Maintains cleanliness standards and stocks for the reception area and restrooms.
• Accurately processes all guest checks with no cash overages or shortages.
• Anticipates, identifies and corrects system breakdowns to achieve maximum guest satisfaction.
• Provides assistance to pantry maintenance and pre-rush organization.
• Provides assistance to all servers and bus persons in order to execute Perkins service standards.
• Utilizes proper cash handling procedures to execute cash and non-cash transactions, counting change, security precautions, and cash accountability.
• Ensures that the cash register and cash register area are stocked with all needed items.
• Communicates with Manager on Duty and co-workers regarding product/service deficiencies, equipment, safety problems, etc.
• Monitors and oversees food temperatures during hot and cold handling to reduce the incidence of risk factors known to cause food borne illness.
• Has sufficient knowledge of menu to execute suggestive selling techniques with all guests.
• Maintains cleanliness of bakery cases and restocks.
• Has sufficient knowledge of bakery products to execute suggestive selling techniques and sampling programs with all guests.
• Bags/boxes any products according to standards.
