Job summary

Sartiano's at the Mercer Hotel is seeking a friendly, professional host to greet guests and set the tone for their dining experience. You will answer phones, take reservations, and guide guests to their tables, ensuring a warm welcome for every guest in a fast-paced upscale environment.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of host experience in fine dining, are proficient with reservation platforms (SevenRooms), and can work weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience as a restaurant host in upscale or fine dining.
• Proficient in reservation management platforms (SevenRooms).
• Flexible schedule based on Sartiano's needs.
• Ability to build professional relationships with guests.
• Professional, tactful, and adept at conflict resolution.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and escort them to tables.
• Answer phone calls, take reservations, and coordinate seating.
• Operate reservation platform and update Maître D’ and management on arrivals and walk-ins.
• Arrange seating for groups with special needs.
• Perform opening and closing duties as needed.

The Role:

You are the first impression of the restaurant and set the tone for the guest experience. There will be times you answer the phone, take reservations, and be responsible for seating guests throughout the restaurant. We are looking for candidates that are available to work weekend shifts.

Responsibilities:

• Warmly greet and welcome guests and escort them to their tables while providing personalized assistance
• Operate SevenRooms reservation platform, keeping the Maître D’ and Management team updated on cancellations, late arrivals, and walk-ins
• Move and arrange tables, chairs, and settings and organize seating for groups with special needs
• Performs opening and closing duties, as needed

Qualifications & Disposition:

• Must have a minimum 1 year experience as a restaurant host in an upscale or fine dining environment
• Proficient in Reservation Management platforms
• Flexible schedule based on the needs of Sartiano's
• Ability to build professional and respectful relationships with guests
• Professional, tactful, and well-versed in conflict resolution
