Role Description

The Host is a part-time, on-site role based at the South Carolina Yacht Club in Hilton Head Island, SC. This position is responsible for greeting and seating members and guests, managing reservations and waitlists, and coordinating table assignments to ensure smooth service flow. The Host supports the food and beverage team by maintaining an organized dining area, answering questions about club offerings, and communicating special requests to service staff. Daily tasks include providing courteous and efficient member service, assisting with events check-in, and upholding the club’s standards of presentation and hospitality. The Host collaborates closely with the front-of-house team to create a welcoming, professional, and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Qualifications

• Strong Communication skills, including clear verbal interaction with members, guests, and team members.
• Excellent Customer Service skills, with a focus on hospitality, professionalism, and member satisfaction.
• Experience or aptitude in Food & Beverage environments, including basic understanding of dining room flow and service standards.
• Ability to support Sales-related activities such as promoting club events, specials, and member programs.
• Comfort with Training and learning new procedures, along with willingness to follow guidance from supervisors.
• Reliable, punctual, and organized, with the ability to manage reservations and multitask in a busy setting.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Previous experience in hospitality, restaurants, or private clubs is preferred but not required.
