Job summary

Torsap Thai Kitchen in Culpeper, Virginia, is looking for a Food Runner/Host/Support Person to provide a warm and welcoming experience for guests. You will greet guests, manage seating flow, and ensure an enjoyable dining atmosphere.

Qualifications

• Ability to stand for long periods (up to 8 hours).
• Communicate clearly in predominant guest languages.

Responsibilities

• Greet all guests warmly upon arrival.
• Open the door for guests entering or leaving the restaurant.
• Record guest names and party sizes when seating is limited.
• Provide estimated waiting times to guests.
• Accommodate special seating requests.
• Offer menus and inform guests about their server.
• Inspect tables for proper presentation.
• Thank guests upon departure and invite them back.

Job description

As a Food Runner/Host/Support Person, you must be friendly, outgoing and possess good communication skills. A guest’s dinner and/or bar experience should be equally enjoyable and you play a major role in the overall picture because you represent the Front of the House by welcoming and warmly greeting guests on arrival. In addition, you manage the efficient and timely seating our guests.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Warmly and graciously greet all guests upon arrival.
• When possible, open the front door for guests entering or leaving the restaurant.
• When immediate seating is limited, record guest names and number of people in party.
• Call out name and number of party when tables become available.
• Provide guests with estimated waiting time.
• Accommodate special seating requests for guests whenever possible.
• Seat guest guests based on guest preferences and balancing of customer flow in service stations.
• Upon seating, offer guests a menu and inform them of their server’s name. Inspect table for proper presentation and completeness.
• Relay messages to servers and buspersons as needed.
• Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
• Expo Food to correct tables and guests.
• Learn the type of tacos and menu items that will go to each guest.
• Bag to-go food menu items for guests
• Clear tables as needed.
• No one under 18 years of age can touch alcoholic beverages at any time per ABC Law.
• Other duties as directed.
