The purpose of the Host position is to monitor and control service to ensure it is most pleasant for guests, servers, and the kitchen. The Host will prepare accurate reports and paperwork, seat tables in an orderly and timely fashion, prepare the Front of House, and communicate next day duties to the Manager on Duty.
Must have the flexibility to work weekends and holidays.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet and interact with guests upon arrival for dining service.
- Ensure all requests and dietary needs are communicated to the Dining Room before service.
- Set the tone and atmosphere for guest arrival.
- Complete opening and closing paperwork efficiently, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Understand and master software systems: Open Table, Opera, Active Networks, and Microsoft Office.
- Correct and adjust menus according to the Executive Chef’s needs daily.
- Inspect the Front of House for preparedness, check table configurations, and monitor menu changes during service.
- Print menus and prepare the host stand for service.
- Seat tables in an orderly and timely fashion.
- Maintain constant communication with the floor team and the Manager on Duty.
- Communicate the day’s breakdown to the Manager on Duty with explanations.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in Food & Beverage Service preferred.
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective communication with guests, team members, and managers.
- Basic math skills for guest charging and check-out.
- Decision-making under pressure and multitasking abilities.
- Judgment and decision-making based on job knowledge and company goals.
Physical Demands
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Stand for long periods.
- Operate a company vehicle or golf cart safely.
Work Environment
- Dining Room, Bar, and Kitchen areas.
- High Hampton property of 1,400 acres.
