Job summary

The Mayton in Cary, NC is seeking a friendly Restaurant Host to greet guests and support a smooth dining experience. You will answer questions, manage the welcome area, and guide guests with warmth and professionalism to create memorable experiences.

Responsibilities include handling reservations via OpenTable, assisting servers and managers, and maintaining a clean, safe host area while upholding Remembered guest service standards.

Qualifications

• Restaurant experience: 1 year (Preferred).
• Ability to remain calm in a hectic, fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrate a high level of organization, attention-to-detail and a sense-of-urgency.
• Displays a positive and outwardly friendly attitude.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
• Must have open availability and the ability to work a variety of shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Communicate in a professional manner to all other staff, guests, managers
• Work together with other staff in a “One Team, One Dream” mentality
• Ensure host stand and all work surfaces are kept in neat and tidy condition throughout service
• Comply with all NC Department of Food and Safety regulations

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Restaurant Host is the first impression for guests, responsible for greeting and assisting them with warmth and professionalism. They ensure a smooth flow of service by managing the restaurant welcome area, answering questions, directing guests, and supporting the team. With a focus on guest satisfaction, the host plays a key role in creating memorable dining experiences and contributing to the overall success of the restaurant.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Guest Experience

• Welcome guests in a warm and professional manner

EDUCATION:

High School diploma or equivalent, general education degree or international equivalent preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Good knowledge of the English language is mandatory as well as the ability to speak, read and write clearly. Must be able to read and listen to instructions, memos, short correspondences, and messages.

PHYSICAL ABILITY:

• Ability to be on your feet and alert for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 15 lbs. as needed
• Continuous use of hands and arms
• Continuous bending, reaching, and twisting
• Maintains strong personal image and uniform standards

COMPENSATION:

Begins at $15 per hour, with the possibility of part-time or full-time scheduling based on business needs and candidate fit. In addition, we offer full benefits for full time employees as well as paid time off, holiday pay, and employee discounts.
